Jeff started woodworking in his teens and graduated top of his class South Eastern Regional Vocational School. From school he went into furniture refinishing and building antique reproduction furniture, learning old craftsmen techniques. His first position in the millwork industry was as foreman at National Door Corp., where he obtained a great amount of door and hardware knowledge. In the early 90’s Jeff decided to start his own company, South Shore Millwork. Jeff started the company as a custom wood door and frame company, but it wasn’t long before the company expanded into high end millwork.
Anthony McKnight joined South Shore Millwork in 2001 as an estimator for large and small projects. In 2008, he was promoted to estimating manager where he estimates jobs for some of the most knowledgeable millwork customers in New England. Prior to joining South Shore Millwork, Anthony spent more than two decades in the industry working as a cabinetmaker, drafter, purchaser and estimator with Monarch Industries. Anthony manages more than 300 project estimates, ranging from $500 to $5M. Anthony also completed the Journeyman Cabinetmaker Apprenticeship offered by the Rhode Island Carpenters Apprenticeship Program.
In 2013, Mike Bowker joined South Shore Millwork as an estimator. He was drawn to the company’s reputation for employing the most talented individuals in the industry, along with its seasoned leadership and commitment to integrity, quality, and professionalism. Over the last three decades, his roles have included journeyman cabinetmaker, project manager, estimator, vice president, and owner. Mike knows quality and has the experience to help customers attain their goals while staying within their budget.
Joseph starting working at South Shore Millwork in 2017. He has extensive experience as a CFO for a number of manufacturing companies including Igloo Products Corp, DGS Retail, MHQ, and Lantor. His early career experience included accounting assignments with a foundation contractor and multiple finance and operational roles in the dimension stone industry. Joseph’s education includes a BS in Accounting from Stonehill College and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from St. Michael’s College.
David has been with South Shore Millwork since 2017. Prior to working at South Shore Millwork he spent three years as a Controller at Freeaire and seven years as Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at Next Generation Vending. Davids education includes graduating from Tri-County Reg. Voc. Tech High School and receiving a Bachelors in Finance from Bridgewater State University. He enjoys creating systems and processes that generate the most accurate results with the least amount of resources required and analyzing the financial impacts of operational initiatives.
Jerry joined South Shore Millwork in 2005, bringing with him a degree in Architectural Engineering and Design from Wentworth Institute of Technology and over 20 years’ experience working for some of the industry’s leading companies. He also holds an Unrestricted Massachusetts Construction Supervisors License. Since Jerry’s arrival at SSM he continues to manage some of the company’s largest and most prominent accounts. He also continues to design custom millwork and furniture pieces, thoroughly enjoying the personal collaboration process of turning the client’s visions into reality. But most of all, Jerry is passionate about upholding one of the company’s core values; producing the highest level of quality and service that a business can offer its clientele.
Director of Human Resources
Stephani has been with South Shore Millwork since 2017 and has over 18 years of experience in the Human Resource field. She has worked in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York and California within industries such as Hospitality, Financial Services, Emergency Medical Services, and Healthcare. Stephani has a BS in Advertising/Marketing Communications, and a minor in Psychology from Johnson & Wales University. She has also had the privilege of serving on the Board for MABHS, Adoption Rhode Island, and the Finance Committee for the town of Abington.
David has been with South Shore Millwork since 2015 where he has held a number of positions including General Manager, Director of Operations, and Engineering Manager. He has over 30 years experience in the millwork industry and has work for a number of companies including Monarch Industries, A.H. Leeming and Sons, Whaling City Millwork, and Sakonnet Associates. Davids education includes Bristol Community College and Southeastern MA University. He has a certificate in Mechanical and Electromechanical Engineering.
Scheduling, Training & Compliance Coordinator
Rená Therrien joined South Shore Millwork in 2005. In 2017, she was promoted to Scheduling, Training, & Compliance Coordinator. In this role, Rená is responsible for monitoring and forecasting the capacity for workflow, administering training programs for employees according to industry standards, and maintaining compliance reporting to governmental agencies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Management degree with a concentration in Accounting. Rena’ previously held positions as Project Administrator and Accountant.
Doug Edwards has been with South Shore Millwork since 1998. He graduated from the cabinet-making program at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School. He then attended various courses at Wentworth Institute of Technology while serving an apprenticeship at Batson Building Supply Company. For the next 20 years at Batson’s, he gained knowledge and experience as a cabinetmaker, draftsman, estimator, and project manager. During his time with South Shore Millwork, Doug has held positions in estimating, engineering, project management, operations management, and design.
Seasoned industry professional Ed Newton joined South Shore Millwork in 2012. In his time with the company, he’s accomplished a great deal, including developing new commercial business, along with estimating and managing projects of varying sizes and complexity. He enjoys interacting with the customers, including general contractors and architects, and the challenge of bringing in new customers and projects while keeping the current ones completely satisfied. Ed began his career four decades ago as a cabinet maker and foreman. He then moved on to project manager and estimator, and was also an entrepreneur, owning his own millwork business.
Bryan joined South Shore Millwork in 2017. He has over a decade of experience in carpentry and millwork with a strong background in old world methods including hand cut dovetails, hand chiseled mortises, scraping, planeing and carving. He enjoys the combination of automation and old world craft at South Shore Millwork. Bryan takes pride in working with some of the best available technology, good attitudes and personal pride for the craft at South Shore Millwork.
Christopher has been with South Shore Millwork since 2014. He has over 20 years of experience in the millwork industry with positions including sales and estimating, fabricator, design, and shop foreman. He has worked for a number of millwork companies including Herrick & White Ltd. and Ferland Woodworking Co, as well as owning his own company. Christopher enjoys working with large builders in the Boston on projects of all sizes.
Tom joined South Shore Millwork in 2006. He brings 20 plus years of experience in High End Residential, Commercial, Restaurant & Retail Millwork. Having worked for some of this area’s Leading Millwork Providers, his experience includes the Greater Boston-Metro Area, The Cape & Islands as well several Regional & National Chains. Tom’s experience also extends to the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley. While at South Shore he has held positions in both Project Management & Engineering Management. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from Roger Williams University.
Timothy has been with South Shore Millwork since 2006. He graduated at the top of his class at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School’s cabinetmaking & millwork program in 2007. Tim has worked in a broad range of areas in the company including Manufacturing, Installation, and Project Management. Tim is currently pursuing his Associates Degree at Bristol Community College with certificates in Project Management and CAD drafting & design.
Mellissa joined South Shore Millwork in 2017. She has extensive experience as a project manager, working for a number of companies including Wood Craft Design Builders, Automation Solutions, and Global Fac. Mgmt. & Construction. Mellissa has an Associates in Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and is a Master Expert Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Director of Operations
Chris has been employed by South Shore Millwork since 1999. During his tenure with South Shore Millwork, Chris has held positions as millworker, CNC operator, cabinet maker, project manager and engineering manager. He has an associate’s degree in building construction and cabinet making from the New England Institute of Technology.
In his current role as Director of Operations, Chris works heavily with production to ensure projects are progressing as needed and customers are completely satisfied with the products they’re receiving. He is also an integral part to the overall operation of the facility and the equipment and machinery within it.
Mark joined South Shore Millwork in 2000, bringing with him more than a dozen years of industry experience. Since Mark’s arrival he has seen the company grow from ten craftspeople to more than forty today. He has been instrumental in the growth and forward trajectory of the company, its overall vision, and its methodologies.
As Shop Foreman, Mark is responsible for day to day production and quality control. He works hand in hand with the Director of Operations to ensure that projects are progressing through the shop efficiently and customer’s schedules and deadlines are being met. Mark also is involved with the oversight of the facility and machinery, while staying on top of the latest materials, processes, and technologies.
